History:
The first mention of Meziříčí comes from 1297. The village of Krásno was founded in the neighborhood, in 1491 it was promoted to a town. In 1924 they merged in Valašské Meziříčí.
Location:
The town lies at the confluence of the rivers Rožnovská and Vsetínská Bečva. Its location is the gateway to the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy.

Dominant of the town - the restored Žerotín chateau. The square with the renaissance town hall building, the U Apoštolů burgher house and the plague column. Kinský Empire Castle and the nearby beauty town hall. From the church monuments, the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the church of St. Of St. James and the wooden church of the Holy Trinity with a lapidary (open only in July and August). Observatory, Moravian Tapestry Manufactory and Museum of Wallachian Ghosts.
