Village history:
The village got its name from (now ruins) the castle Jestřebí around 1480.
In 1867, the railway line from Bakov to Lípa with the station "Habichstein" - Jestřebí was completed.
After the end of World War II, the majority of the German population is displaced and Czech settlers come, mostly from the Čáslav region. They took over farming and some trades, unclaimed trades were canceled.
After 1945, 42 houses, mostly wooden, were demolished in the village. There are only five of them left - Nos. 13, 20, 28, 100 and 111. In addition, Jestřebí lost its status as a town and became a municipality. In 1966 Újezd with Popelov was annexed to Jestřebí and in 1976 Pavlovice and thus Jestřebí acquired its present form. The municipal office has returned to the village since 1990. Jestřebí is equipped with a municipal office, a church, a parish, a school, a kindergarten, a cinema café, a library, a post office and a relatively good transport connection.
