The Institute of Physiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. V. I., Is one of the leading research institutions in the Czech Republic. He is engaged in research in the field of normal and pathological physiology, focusing mainly on the study of the mechanisms of serious human diseases, such as stroke, ischemic heart disease, diabetes, hereditary metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
